  5. We are writting the 8th december,1989 and their are only 23  days 
  6. till we hear again:'let's drink and say hello 1990!' and so on  ! 
  7. Therefore  I'll try to give you a little survey on this year  and 
  8. what ha happend about this magazin !
  9.  
  10. january till march 1989:
  11. The  year starts as most of the other years  !The  softwaremarket 
  12. calms  down after the wild time around christmas,when we  had  to 
  13. accept  that  more than 80 percent of all new games  is  rubbish. 
  14. Within the so called 'Hackerscene' we've got the first big crash, 
  15. when the police arrested some german hackers,which managed to get 
  16. with  their  homecomputers into the defensesystem of  the  united 
  17. staates  and sold their found information to the russian  secret- 
  18. service  KGB.During  this  time,somewhere near  Bonn  an  unknown 
  19. programer  has got the idea to publish a magazin  on  disk.  Some 
  20. routines have been wrote and tested and he decided to puplish the 
  21. magazin only for colour monitors !

  23. april till june 1989:
  24. The time when we all want to make hollidays !  The  softwarefirms 
  25. get asleep and the normal magazins reduce their frequency  (hello 
  26. ASM)  and ....  and the hackers are more active then  ever.During 
  27. this  time the demowave grasps whole europe.First product is  the 
  28. 'define  demo'  by  the lost boys from  london.Then  we  got  the 
  29. 'Whatahach Demo' and as the best demoproduct of the year 1989  we 
  30. got the 'cuddly demo' published by the magic carebears. They show 
  31. that  almost  everything  is  possible  with  an  ST.Some   great 
  32. frontiers are broken.Another event:the first issue of the unknown 
  33. disk magazin appears and nowbody wants to have it !  What is  the 
  34. included fault ????

  36. july till septembre 1989:
  37. It  was  a  windy autuum.Their is a lot of new  software  on  the 
  38. market.Much  average software,a lot of garbage but  sometimes  we 
  39. found  a  new  great game.And their's a  new  leader  within  the 
  40. shoot'em up's ! no,no R-Type ten and no  Menance five.The name of 
  41. the  game is Xenon II !  Everybody who likes shoot'em  up's  must 
  42. have this game.At the beginning of this game you hear,I think the 
  43. best digisound of the year 1989.Also on 512 KByte STs it'll  beat 
  44. you  and your ears up so .....  get the Hit !After this theirs  a 
  45. great game with great grafics,much extras and super motivation  ! 
  46. Much  things happen during this autuum and somewhere in  germany, 
  47. one  person  tries to find the mistake of his  magazin  on  disk. 
  48. After some time,he started another issue in the middle resolution 
  49. and we have got ...... the Disk MAGAZIN !

  51. october till december 1989:
  52. It's christmastime ! Now let's buy some software , this what most 
  53. of  all the little ST-Users thing.Buy and again buy whatever  you 
  54. can  get for your homemachine.Most of the softwareproducers  know 
  55. this  and therefore they produce as much games as possible  !  We 
  56. find  a  lot of rubbish,some average games and only  very  little 
  57. great  games.  The  third issue of the Disk MAGAZIN  is  send  to 
  58. Sweden  to a group called 'The Carebears' with the hope to get  a 
  59. good  resonance and a new intro.The resonance was great  and  you 
  60. can see the rest in form of this megaintro by THE CAREBEARS !!!

  62. This  was our little on this year.I hope it was an as great  year 
  63. for you as for me ( and the rest of the Disk MAGAZIN team ) !  We 
  64. wish you a great 1990 and don't forget to read .......  right the 
  65. Disk MAGAZIN !!!!!!!!!
